Original

Three part setting with an alternating cantus firmus between soprano and baritone. Note that this is not based on the well known 15th century melody of the "Veni Emanuel", but a newer melody by Verspoell. Original text and translations. Both the German and English text version are based on the late medieval hymn Veni, veni Emanuel. The German translation is by C.B. Verspoell from 1810 and the English translation by J.M. Neale from 1851.
