In 2009, the Emmanuel College Theater Guild mounted a production of Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream. The Guild's director asked me to set the song texts that appear in the play to music, to be sung by the actors and accompanied by an Irish folk band. The simple, lead-sheet version of this tune seemed to go over well with everyone, so I decided to write a fuller setting for SSA choir and piano. This lullaby is heard in Act II, scene 2, as Tatania's fairy-attendants sing her to sleep. The mood is calm, dreamy, and slightly fantastical. Honorable Mention of the 2009 Pathways Series. En 2009, l'Emmanuel College Theater Guild monté une production de Songe d'une Nuit de Shakespeare. Le directeur de la Guilde m'a demandé de mettre les textes de chansons qui apparaissent dans le jeu de la musique, pour être chanté par les acteurs et accompagné par un groupe de folk irlandais. La version simple, conduire la fiche de ce titre semblait aller plus bien avec tout le monde, alors j'ai décidé d'écrire un réglage plus complète pour l'Afrique subsaharienne choeur et piano.
