Here I took that four-bar structure and wrote a piece to help a student stretch bit by bit out of the Middle C Position. It builds to a little climax before coming back down to the simpler, quieter texture of the opening. It is dedicated to Amy Burns, an adult beginner and mother of two young students, as I felt it suited her musical and technical needs at the time.
