There are a wealth of associations with the number seven. the seven seas, the seven deadly sins, the seven continents, the seven wonders of the world, and the seven veils reveal a few of these. For this work, the title Seven is representative of the meter signature, a rare one seldom used in music at this level of technical facility. The composition was constructed as a learning experience for both conductor and performer while performing music of emotional and lyrical substance.
