Dramatic and sweeping, this work is based on folk music of the middle east, where the composer lived as a boy. Some of the material is traditional folk music and some is original material created by Dr. Chobanian in the same style. This is a well balanced three-movement work that uses the entire band to its full effect. Frequent meter changes, double and triple tonguing in the brass will make this work challenging. Une partie du matériel est la musique folklorique traditionnelle et quelque soit matériel original créé par le Dr Chobanian dans le même style.
