Ciribiribin is perhaps the solo Trumpet chart by which all others are measured. It is certainly a very challenging piece for your soloist, though can also be used as a solo vehicle for Clarinet or Soprano Sax instead. We have reproduced HJ's 1939 classic for you in full, from the classically inspired intro, the Mediterranean waltz section, the little Baroque bridge, the Trumpet Cadenza and the fast swing second half. We have adapted the original to suit 8 brass. Solo Trumpet, Tpts 123 & 4 Trombones. and 5 Saxes. AATTB. The Solo Trumpet part is exactly as played by HJ, along with all articulations and phrasings. Aside from the difficulty of the Solo Trumpet part, the chart is reasonably straightforward for the rest of the band, and makes a great concert piece.
