Dale Adelmann has taken his close harmony arrangement for men's voices. 9232. which received much critical acclaim, and rearranged it for SATB choir. This edition retains the subdued harmonic and rhythmic character that is present in the original. It includes a brief tenor solo in a restatement of the opening text "Steal away, steal away home. I ain't got long tuh stay here. " Great care has been taken to preserve the traditional language and dialect. This work would be fitting for a concert of sacred music, or as an introit to a worship service.
