A delightful suite for Voice and Piano, from Der Vogelhandler by Austrian composer Carl Zeller. This inventive and enduring Opera, in three acts, is based on the Libretto by Moritz West and Ludwig Held. Der Vogelhandler or the Bird seller tells the charming story of a Tyrolean bird seller and his many loves. It contains lush, rich and alluring melodies and was particularly fresh when it was premiered in 1891, for a time revitalising the Operetta genre.
