Extra Information Also performed on June 4 1912 in Croydon by William J. Read, not in public but in part for the purpose of establishing British copyright (see Hyperion notes). Read also premiered works by Hurlstone (eg his piano quartet) and is noted in Coleridge-Taylor biographies as having rescued a work or two of the composer from the wastepaper-basket (one of which he passed on to Rutland Boughton and which eventually only got published in 1985).
