Chanson Cramoisie, a 7-minute lyrical piece for violin and piano, was originally composed in 2007, and was revised in 2013. It is one of Andrew Beer's most tonal compositions, a homage of sorts to Ravel, with tinges of Messiaen appearing from time to time. The title, Crimson Song, refers to the colour of the sunset on a dry winter evening in Vancouver.
