With obvious influence from the opening theme of 'The Godfather' and inspired by a lyric in Louis Armstrong's 'Kiss of Fire', this composition is bursting with character, allowing all four members of the quartet to have their moment of glory and to expose the different tone colours of the trumpet through the use of a wide variety of mutes. The composer thoroughly enjoyed recording this himself and hopes that others will share similar joy in this composition.
