The first of a three movement concerto for Violin, Clarinet and Orchestra utilizing the trusted and tried Sonata form. The two contrasting themes are introduced after a brief prelude and developed in the exposition especially from bar 116 when the two solo instruments play unaccompanied by the orchestra. The movement ends in a vibrant interplay between the duet and orchestra. I have decided to publish this concerto movement by movement instead of waiting to complete the work just in case it drags. Seeing it on Sibeliusmusic.com just might inspire me to complete it quicker than I would have otherwise. Listen to the mp3 for a realistic presentation of the score. The midi sounds nothing like it should!
