Tone is not quite right

This song, one I have loved since childhood, had a melancholy/romantic tone when sung by the Everly Brothers (and later by James Taylor and Carly Simon). In this arrangement, it is too perky and has lost the minor key quality it originally had. I tried it in every key into which it was transcribed, and it didnt have the quality of the original. So -- glad to have it, but a little disappointed.
