  • Bleuzet was an oboist himself, and with a death date of 1941, copyright on this work will expire at the end of 2011 in life + 70 countries. It might not make much sense that an oboist edited for saxophone, it's just traditional that saxophonists use oboe material because the range is the same. Johann Luft (1814-1869), according to the Naxos biographical information, went to St. Petersburg to play in the Imperial Theatre orchestra, and became the founder of the Russian oboe school.
    • Until the cover page can be downloaded, this has been tagged for both oboe and sax, assuming it was originally published that way by Luft. (The saxophone was invented in 1841, so it possible Luft knew of it.)
    • His edition becomes PD-US in 2024, so I can't download it from here until then- 12 year difference :) may find it elsewhere though. (Hrm. Libraries, libraries- BNF has Billaudot's 2000 repub., a German one has their 1954 repub., Australia has copies of the 1926 publication as does a Swiss library- am nowhere near there though :) nor do I presently have ILL privs- so goes. Bleuzet = Louis Florent Alfred Bleuzet it seems, if his full name is of interest at any point- might run into another edition of his at some time...)
  • This can be transferred to the EU server on 1 January 2012, and at that point, one of us can have a look at it. (Steltz)
